Whats the problem?
There are so many different types of lotion and potion cleaning sprays out there. There’s the big household names, there’s some pretty good Supermarket own brands, there’s the new influencer endorsed products that do make your home smell lovely but they all have one thing in common. They’re all throw away disposable plastics.
www.circularonline.co.uk
- Interesting Fact – According to Circularonline.co.uk the UK will collectively throw away 468 million spray bottles of cleaning solutions. In addition, 83% of us are not clear which of these can be recycled.
What do Purdy & Figg do differently?
Purdy & Figg have done away with single use disposable plastic in favour of attractive and ergonomic glass spray bottles that you are supplied with in the Starter Kit. You then add the cleaning fluid from a glass recyclable bottle and top up with water from the tap. Super simple and easy. It all comes in recyclable packaging and a single bottle topped up with water will last you around a month (if you’re an average cleaner!).
There are two main starter kits to choose from. Counter Clean is a multi surface cleaner and Bathroom Bliss….well, does what it says on the tin! Both starter kits come with your glass spray bottle and 3 20ml eco-concentrates plus a Purdy & Figg branded cleaning cloth.
Counter Clean
I use this in my kitchen, lounge, hallway, utility….anywhere that’s not a bathroom. It comes with three different refill scents – Floral, Citrus and Vetiver and all smell amazing. I love the fact that each time you refill you use a different scent so you never go “noseblind” to the same scent.
I have two dogs and four cats so making sure my home smells nice is very important to me but also, I need the cleaning products to clean! These sprays do both of these tasks very well! The sprays are safe to use in the areas your pets go and are all non-toxic and cruelty free also.
Bathroom Bliss
Bathroom bliss works very much in the same way as Counter Clean but is specially formulated to work on limescale, soap scum and hard water deposits. I live in the south of England so can vouch for the fact that it does tackle the limescale and hard water stains that I’ve struggled with here.
On a disappointing note, there is only one scent available for Bathroom Bliss which is Lime and Lemongrass. It’s a lovely smell and just right for freshening up your bathrooms but as I said before, I like the Counter Clean option of having a different scent everytime you refill so you don’t go nose blind!
Value for money
There is the option to subscribe and save 50% when signing up for a starter kit, which means that every 90 days you get a delivery of an additional 3x20ml eco-concentrate bottle refills. This is a cost effective option and the one I opted for. This works out at £15 every 3 months. To compare this to your average Big Brand multi surface spray it does work out a bit more expensive, but not a huge amount AND I genuinely think these products work better and smell better!
Conclusion
You may pay a little more for these products but you are getting a high quality cleaner, doing your bit to reduce waste AND, making your cleaning routine a whole lot more enjoyable! The act of cleaning up feels a little bit like that part of your getting ready routine when you put on your favourite perfume and feel fresh and ready for the day. Not to mention clearing space in your cleaning cupboard/shelf/bucket as you only need two bottles!
There is a Money Back Guarantee offer but I can’t talk about it as I haven’t needed to use it!!! I’ve been using these products for over a year now and would NOT switch to anything else.
